The Asia-Pacific Region covers a total land area of 21 million square kilometres extending from Mongolia in the north, to New Zealand in the south, and from Pakistan in the west, to French Polynesia in the east. Scouting in the Asia-Pacific Region continues to flourish. Scouting is a global, educational youth movement with over 50 million members worldwide, of which 30.8 million or 75.36% of the global membership are in the Asia-Pacific Region. The role of the Asia-Pacific Region is to support its 29 member National Scout Organizations (NSOs), including its associate members and several potential member-countries.
